What is Round Table?
In a nutshell, it's all about 'fellowship' - regular and varied meetings, getting to know people of diverse and similar interests of different occupations and nationalities, meeting people and doing things you would probably never have done or met otherwise.
It's also about having fun in a social sense with a bit of gentle fund-raising thrown in. It's different, better than a night down at the boozer, and great fun. What's more, you get a great real sense of belonging to something rather special- not so easy to find these days!
Social events and Family
Social Events and outings are a core value of Round Table bringing members and their families together.
Many different events are organised both at individual Table level, Area, National and even International, these could be anything from, Paint Balling, Sailing, Dinner Dances, Parties, BBQ's, Camping, a day at the Races, hot air ballooning, or even a weekend away in another country being hosted by the locals.
It really does enable you to take part in new and interesting worthwhile activities.
Personal Development
Besides the pride and satisfaction of helping others, you will experience other personal benefits. You may become a better leader, or more of a team player. You'll find yourself becoming more relaxed in dealing with groups, your presentation skills will improve and you'll become a better public speaker. You'll also get the chance to network with people from a wide variety of businesses and backgrounds.
Helping the Community
While Round Table is not an organisation where you donate money out of your own pocket, we do carry out several fund raising events where the profit is donated to a good cause or charity that the Table wishes. This could be a single individual or a large National Charity.
Other activities are also organised to help the community in other ways, such as giving a helping hand at garden fetes, taking less able people for a day or night out or even running the local Bonfire & Fireworks display, all of which takes little effort on our part but is very rewarding and always fun.
